Online classes

It took the coronavirus for me to get myself online for lessons, but I am here now! You can schedule lessons, both private and group, thanks to my new scheduling feature! If we have a regular schedule set up for ongoing private lessons, or you want me to check you off the group class punchcard when you take class, click on paying for ongoing lessons, and off you go! If you want to buy a gift package for someone else who is out of work, that is also possible!. Other things that will speed up the process of starting online lessons with me: downloading Zoom meeting software (free) on your phone or computer, and clearing space in your home or office to allow you to move—and me to see you.

What does an online tango class look like?

  • Short chat to find out what YOU want out of today’s lesson

  • Short warmup, depending on need of dancer

  • For new students, evaluation of dance needs

  • Exercises building on my current work with you

  • Musicality coaching

  • Balance coaching/strength building as needed

  • Homework for next lesson (if you want it)

  • Schedule next lesson

Online classes: a great choice when in-person can’t happen

I was surprised how effective online lessons are! I hesitated for years because I doubted that online lessons would work well. So far, my students have been excited at how much we can get done remotely. I can tell that 35 years of dance teaching is helping me deliver quality, even via remote learning. If you want to chat about the possibilities before signing up, use my contact page to connect with me.

Solo classes work as well as couple classes

Much of the work I do in private lessons centers around personal technique, balance and strength. This is easy to transfer to online, as it does not require a partner. You can use Zoom to record classes as well, so that you can review between lessons to practice better!

If you take my Tango and Toning class, you know that there is a lot to do in your own dance, and also, most of us need a coach/teacher to make us do the exercises to get good. After all, it’s not as “fun” as dancing with someone—but it pays off in the long run with a much better dance. That’s what I am here for: to help you do the work, like going to the tango gym to stay fit!

If you have a tango partner in your home, remote learning allows you also to continue being coached in your dance with your partner.
