Yoga for dance, posture and wellbeing

I am a Yoga Alliance-certified instructor, YA#373412. I also hold a chair yoga teaching certificate. I teach yoga in person and on Zoom. I emphasize correct alignment in each pose so that you can work efficiently and injury-free. Some people are hyper-flexible and need to strengthen their bodies and to protect their joints. Others are challenged in terms of flexibility and need a program to gently move them forwards. I find that everyone can improve their balance, and I include balance work in each class.

Mat class group lessons (in person)

I currently run a small group lesson at 12:30 on Wednesdays and Fridays at my home studio. This class has 4-5 people of all ages and abilities. I can help you get started with yoga (or re-started). Most people are regulars, but there is usually a space open if you look on the registration page.

Chair yoga group lessons (in person)

Chair yoga class happens at 11:15 on Fridays currently. This class is geared towards folks who are not comfortable getting down to the floor; who have injuries that make a regular yoga class difficult; or who have limited movement want to be active. Limit 5 people in the class.

Yoga in your dance lesson

Many of my private tango students use yoga to improve their posture, balance and strength. We often take a few minutes from a dance class to work on a pose or exercise that will benefit dancing. I am happy to combine both practices into one lesson!

Yoga private lessons (in person/on Zoom)

Do you need help with your balance? With muscle tightness? Do you struggle with hyperflexibility and need to find ways to protect your joints? I really enjoy one-on-one yoga instruction. We can work on any aspect of body awareness or injury prevention—or just enjoy a release with some private yoga time!
